My name is Bas or Murdoc, but you can refer to me by my artist moniker Boreal, or BorealBeast.I am a predominantly digital artist with roots in traditional art, having drawn and created since I can remember.
I mainly focus on nature and wildlife; be it extinct, extant or fictitious animals, scenery, character & creature concepts and some personal worldbuilding as well.My primary interests and inspirations include prehistory, paleontology, zoology and science fiction.
A great passion and love for the natural world, its history and all forms of life, is what got me to first create and what drives me to this day.

Terms Of Service
By buying a commission or design from me, you are automatically agreeing to the rules below.
Terms are subject to change.
You must be 18 or older to commission me, regardless of subject.
For commissions involving original characters, you must provide a clear visual reference. Nude/NSFW references are allowed.
I reserve the right to reject a commission inquiry for any reason.
I do not currently work with deadlines.
Work in progress (WIP) previews for more complex commissions will always be offered, otherwise WIPs will be provided only if requested.
Oversights on my end and minor fixes are free of charge, regardless of the status of completion.
Any larger changes or revisions to finalized work may include a fee and are possible within 48 hours after completion.
Completed artwork will be delivered as a digital file. By ordering a commission from me, you acknowledge and accept that you will not be shipped a physical item.
Payment & Refunds
Payment is made upfront and via PayPal invoice only. Accepted currencies are EUR or USD.
Once an invoice is sent, you are expected to pay within 24 hours. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the commission slot.
Payment plans can be discussed for more complex commissions exceeding $200.
I do NOT offer refunds for completed artwork.
Refunds may be offered for incomplete, in-progress work on a case-by-case basis. However, progress that has already been made will be subtracted from the refund accordingly.
I reserve the right to cancel an in-progress commission for any reason and at any time. In this case, a full refund will be given, regardless of the work that has already been done.
Usage
As the artist, I reserve the rights to my artwork. This includes the right to display the artwork further and use it for self-promotion.
Commissioned artwork is for personal, non-commercial use only and may not be sold or profited off further.
Commercial use of artwork can be discussed and will include a fee depending on type and complexity. This should be requested before payment is completed.
Proper credit must be given if commissioned work is uploaded to other galleries or social media.
You may not alter or edit commissioned artwork without my explicit permission, however you are free to add text, background images, etc. or include commissioned work in reference sheet, as long as I am credited.
My artwork, commissioned or otherwise, is not to be used as or associated in any form with NFTs (Non-fungible tokens).
My designs and art my not be used to train AI.

Design/Adoptable Terms Of Service
For pre-made designs (adoptables), full payment is expected to be completed within 24 hours after the invoice was sent, unless delays or payment plans were discussed beforehand.
I currently only take payments via PayPal invoice.
Purchased designs are non-refundable.
Upon completed payment, the buyer will receive the full digital file/s and the rights to the character.
As the artist, I reserve the rights to the original artwork and concept.
Usage of a design for larger commercial projects can be discussed, along with additional royalties/fees. Ideally, this should be done before completing the purchase/payment.
Usage
Once purchased, you may change the design however you like (species, gender, markings, etc.).
You may use the design in any personal manner, as well as for personal merch, as a fursuit or in your indie projects (games, comics, etc.). I only ask to be credited for the original design.
You may include my original art of the design on references or add text or a background, as long as proper credit is given.
You may trade, gift or resell the design.
When reselling the design, unless there is additional value*, you may not price it higher than the initial purchase amount in order to profit off my work. *Additional value from commissioned art, merch, fursuits, etc. can be added to the price, of course.
You may not draw/paint over or directly edit my original art of the design without my permission.
You may not turn a purchased design into a new "closed species" or make copies of it to sell as separate adopts.
You may not use the design for larger commercial projects or products, unless this is discussed with me beforehand.
You may not claim the design as your own work/concept. (Of course, you can take credit for any major edits/changes you made to it.)
